Greenlight Awards Entrepreneurship in Port Huron

Port Huron, MI – The second instalment of Greenlight Port Huron announces three business competition winners and one student winner for 2015. $8,500 was available to contestants this year with $5,000 going to the first place pitch: Hoppily Ever After. Shannon Schwabe of Hoppily Ever After will receive an automatic seat to present at Greenlight Michigan in East Lansing in March 2016, where the top prize is $25,000 with the opportunity to win up to $50,000.

Greenlight Port Huron Winners:
Grand Prize, $5,000: Shannon Schwabe with Hoppily Ever After
Second Prize, $2,000: Jacqueline Rose “Missy” Campau with Missy’s Kayak Connection
Third Prize, $1,000: Marie Mule with Riverview Fly Shop
Best Student Pitch, $500: Hally Uppleger with insulin pump screen protector

“For the second year heading back to Port Huron, it is great to see so many people enthusiastic about entrepreneurship,” said Paul Jaques, Director of Student and Community Engagement at Spartan Innovations. “It is exciting to see this regional competition grow, and we look forward to working with Shannon Schwabe as she prepares for Greenlight Michigan.”

The Greenlight Business Model Competition is a collaborative effort that brings entrepreneurs and small business supports from across the state together. In addition to networking with investors and innovators, Greenlight participants pitch their new business ideas to a panel of judges for the opportunity to win cash prizes. Greenlight Port Huron is one of two regional competitions leading up to Greenlight Michigan, hosted in East Lansing. Greenlight is committed to helping Michigan professionals become successful entrepreneurs and business leaders.
