Megan joined Spartan Innovations as an Entrepreneur in Residence in January 2018. She is working with Michigan State University faculty members, along with faculty at the University of Michigan, advancing their research to bring their innovative therapeutics and diagnostics to the patient market. As a pharmacologist, she is passionate about fostering translational research here in Michigan.
Megan obtained her PhD in Pharmacology from Boston University where she studied the role of neuroinflammation in the development of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s and chronic traumatic encephalopathy. During her studies, she worked with a diverse group of experts in academia and industry, developing drug screen assays to identify compounds that may alter specific protein interactions implicated in Alzheimer’s. Prior to joining Spartan Innovations, she completed her postdoctoral research, examining the molecular mechanisms of enzyme and protein regulation at The Scripps Research Institute in Florida.
